EUREKA, Calif. — A new grant program will award Black-owned businesses with COVID-19 relief funding in Humboldt County, according to the group Black Humboldt.
Black Humboldt and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) created the program, with support from the Humboldt Area Foundation. The relief program has the capacity to give 10 Black-owned businesses $1,000 each, Black Humboldt said in a Facebook post.
The first 10 applications that fit the need profile will be selected to receive grants, and others will be considered at a later date if more funding becomes available, Black Humboldt said.
The grant application will be open until July 24 and recipients will be chosen July 31.
