KRCR: Humboldt to celebrate Juneteenth this Saturday
Black Humboldt is hosting this year's Juneteenth celebration on Saturday at Halvorsen Park in Eureka.
There, various Black-owned businesses will be tabling throughout the day-long event. Black Humboldt aims o create employment and monetary opportunities for the local BIPOC community by hosting allowing those vendors to sell their products and by hosting organizations like the local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter, which provides mentorship opportunities for Black youth.

Juneteenth may be a federal holiday, but it is not yet uniformly observed in every community. we notice that this year's celebrations of Liberation Day are generally occurring two days before the actual holiday, on June 17th... because it's a Saturday.
So it is with the celebration planned by Black Humboldt, set for Saturday Noon to 10 PM in Halvorsen Park in Eureka.
